Technology has never been the hardest part of the work. The harder part has been making decisions when the answer is not clear, earning trust before asking people to change, and protecting the organization when not everyone sees the risk in the same way. These reflections come from more than 28 years spent in technology, cybersecurity, and leadership and from the moments that shaped how I think about risk, people, responsibility, and change.
Why This Journal Exists
Some lessons stay with you long after the moment has passed. They come from crises, difficult decisions, failed assumptions, and quiet moments where you realize that experience means very little if it is kept only to yourself. This journal exists to share those lessons, not as rules, not as advice, but as reflections from moments that changed the way I think about leadership, risk, people, and responsibility.

Technology is only one part of the equation.
The hardest leadership challenges are rarely solved by technology alone. They are shaped by judgement, communication, trust, timing, resilience and the courage to make difficult decisions when the answers are not obvious.

The Risk Nobody Takes Seriously Until It Hurts
Every organization carries risks it does not fully see. Some are ignored because the business is busy. Some are delayed because budgets are tight. Others are accepted quietly because nothing has gone wrong yet. This opening reflection looks at why risk is often taken seriously only after it begins to hurt and why understanding that reality is the right place for this journal to begin.
